Increasing The Effectiveness And Impact Of A Loyalty Card Program
So how do you increase the effectiveness of the “stickers on a credit card Loyalty Program” idea discussed in my last post?
By simply informing your Customer after you’ve returned his credit card to him with the sticker affixed to it that he will be entitled to a discount or special gift the next time (from this time onward) he uses his credit card at your outlet as long as the sticker is seen.
The Customer will not usually mind the sticker on his credit card since he’s getting a benefit from it, he doesn’t have to remember to carry another Loyalty Card, he’s buying from you in the first place, and the sticker can easily be removed if he wishes to do so.
It also helps if the sticker is professionally printed and looks good so that it blends or complements the credit card color scheme somewhat.
You can also print the discount directly on the sticker so that the benefit of buying from you is always staring right back at him. This tactic is probably better than just a sticker showing a logo alone.
In my next posts I will discuss other tactics that complement this sticker idea in getting your Customer to come back again and again because while putting a sticker on his credit card alone is good, especially with the above enhancements, it can be made even more effective - at zero or almost zero cost, using the things your Customer is already carrying with him all the time.
Stay tuned.
