Kill Your Competitors Part 2
Remember the Orion Search Engine algorithm developed by Ori Allon?
No?

It promised to revolutionize search technology, including Google’s very own.
Google bought it over.
Ori came with it.
Google has 3 options since then:
1. Incorporate this technology into its existing algorithm now; OR
2. Kill it, so that nobody else can get their hands on it; OR
3. Introduce it in the future should this be necessary, to compete with Yahoo and MSN if they come up with something similar then.
With Orion’s creator working for Google, Yahoo and MSN will have to start from scratch.
It’ll be some time before Yahoo and MSN can have a working prototype, if they decide to go the same way.
Now which way will Google go, you think?

This reminds me of Google buying up YouTube. Google has branched into many different markets. Seeing how they want to emerge as a market leader, it seems appropriate to buy up all the largest entities so that Google can add on to their bulk much faster with less work involved.
I forsee that Microsoft will have tougher competition in the future.
