Those who are in careers they’re truly happy to be in and who make a lot of money as a result are following certain Career and Money Rules – whether they know it or not. I’m in my dream career where I look forward to “working” every single day, in an industry that is recession-proof. Not only is the money good, it’s getting better by the day, every single day, even during the current economic downturn.

Yet it wasn’t like that when I qualified as a lawyer, about 17-18 years ago. I set out to become one, and I did, because I thought that was my calling. It wasn’t, and it took me 3 long years before I called it quits. I wasn’t happy – and I was broke every single month. Being unhappy with your career and having no money in the bank are two of the worst possible combinations for anyone to stomach – especially me, and dear Dad who had financed my expensive education in the UK.

I simply didn’t have the right Career and Money knowledge. I didn’t do any tests to determine my suitability for a legal career even though I qualified to be one quickly. And I didn’t have any money skills to enable me to retain the money that I made from my career, and to grow it properly.

One of the star students of my Internet Business Boot Camp, Carol Yip, deals with the issue of Money. I’ve tried some of the tests she gave me and I was astounded by the results, which basically told me that what I’m currently doing now is what I should be doing all along. If I only knew 18 years ago, what I now know. Things would have been really different.
